About

Hotel Tenbo sits in Ikaho (伊香保), a hot-spring town with over 400 years of history in Gunma. The grand bath floor runs two separate springs side by side: Kogane-no-yu (こがねの湯), the golden spring, and Shirogane-no-yu (しろがねの湯), the silver spring. The basement rock bath, built from Sanba-seki (三波石, a natural monument stone), has a rugged, cave-like feel that stands apart from the main hall. Above ground, several open-air baths include a two-tier terrace bath, an outdoor cave bath for women, and reclining outdoor baths for men. Private baths are available for couples and families, and some guest rooms come with their own outdoor soaking tub.
