Classification

Sodium-Calcium Sulfate-Chloride spring

A sodium-calcium sulfate-chloride spring, hot at the source (50.6 °C). The sulfate fraction gives it a settled, mineral body, with a salty edge from the chloride sub-type. Neutral in pH and moderately mineralized at 1,090 mg/kg of dissolved solids. A generous 129 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.

Public Bath No.6 Mearai-no-yu, Shibu onsen 6th onsen of Shibu. Old-school, but the bath isn't the smallest. Water temperature at the time of visit was hot, color is clear with white "lime" particles, faint smell. Decent for Shibu, but if you don't need to visit them all, you can skip it.
