Nakayamadaira Onsen Asuka Ryokan

An old inn at Nakayamadaira Onsen known for its unagi-yu (うなぎ湯), the nickname for a silky, slippery alkaline sodium bicarbonate spring that leaves your skin smooth. The water is also drinkable at the source. Regulars gather here, the building has a well-worn feel, and bringing your own food and sharing the table with other guests is apparently part of the culture.
