414. Iyashi no Sato Kiyashiki, Kurokawa Onsen Visited for higaeri. Located at a distance from Kurokawa's center. Higaeri is usually available from 13:00 to 18:00 (Wed-Sat) and 11:00 to 18:00 (Sun-Tue), with occasional weekday closures. Included in the Kurokawa tegata. Overnight guests have access to two semi-open private baths. The ryokan has its own branded towels. All baths have clear water with pieces of white mineral deposits, sometimes large. 1. Indoor bath, temperature 43. Breathing inside is fine. 2. Outdoor round bath, temperature 43. 3. Outdoor square standing bath, temperature 42. 4. Outdoor large bath, temperature 40-41. View of trees. A solid rotenburo with added variety from the standing and round baths. Worth visiting if passing by, but a special detour to this onsen isn't very practical given the competition in the village.

Higaeri is available. Located far from central Kurokawa; I stopped by on my way to Yamamizuki. There's an indoor bath with a shower (strange smell in there) and beyond that, three different rotenburo in one space - two small ones (wooden and deep) and one large. They're all decent enough, but the view is mostly fence and tall trees. A questionable option. Not worth trekking 15 minutes specifically for it, but if you're passing by in that direction and have time, you can pop in.
