About

Zazan Minakami has 15 baths spread across three separate zones, all overlooking the Tone River. The oldest zone, Bokusui-no-yu (牧水の湯), preserves the timber frame of the original 1927 inn, with thick cypress beams above the bath. The Suisho-no-yu (水晶の湯) zone adds a hiba cedar room, a barrel-shaped outdoor tub, and a sauna. The third zone, Okutone Hatto (奥利根八湯), runs through eight baths including a cave bath lined with local Sanba-ishi stone, a crystal-glass tub, and a cypress bath. The water is soft and leaves the skin smooth. Private reserved baths are available, and rooms on the Zaraku (坐楽) concept floor have their own semi-outdoor tub. The ryokan was formerly known as Mizukami-kan (水上館) before rebranding as Zazan Minakami.
