The Kanaya Hotel group has been in hospitality since 1893, and this Kinugawa property is a ryokan-hotel hybrid sitting above the Kinugawa gorge. Two large communal indoor baths, Shiki-no-Yu (四季の湯) and Kodai-Hinoki-no-Yu (古代檜の湯, the cypress bath), rotate between male and female use, and three outdoor rotenburo are available as well. The spring water is clear and nearly odorless. Many guest rooms have their own private outdoor or indoor onsen baths. A sauna is on site too. Day-use bathing is not available.
