About
Yamatoya has sat at the original source of Senami Onsen (瀬波温泉, Senami Onsen) since 1904, and the bath reflects that pedigree: indoor-only, kakenagashi, running day and night. The water is smooth on the skin and carries a faint sulfurous scent, though the spring itself contains no sulfur. The building is old and unpretentious, with a Showa-era feel throughout, but that plainness is very much the point for guests who come for the water.
