Kawai Bekkan sits on a hillside a short drive from the center of Kinosaki Onsen, quieter than the main strip. The inn has an indoor communal bath (daiyokujo, 大浴場) fed by the local onsen water. The bigger draw for most guests is the food: fresh crab grilled at an irori (囲炉裏) hearth at the table. For those who want to visit Kinosaki's famous public baths (sotoyu, 外湯), the inn runs a shuttle into town. The place operated for years as Sanso Ashigaru Ryokan and took the current name, Kani no Yado Kawai Bekkan (かにの宿 華和ゐ 別館), in September 2025.
