BicarbonateSodium Bicarbonate spring

A sodium-led bicarbonate hot spring in the classic jūsō-sen (soda-water) style. The water emerges at 46 °C, weakly alkaline (pH 7.8) and soft on the skin, sitting squarely in Japan's beauty-water family. A generous 65 mg/kg of metasilicic acid adds a thin silica film that leaves skin noticeably smoother afterwards.

Bicarbonate and alkalinity gently lift dead keratin while silica hydrates, leaving skin smooth. This is the basis of the beautifying-water (bijin-no-yu 美人の湯) reputation.

Aches & joints

Warmth eases stiffness and raises the pain threshold. Radon and sulfate springs show the strongest evidence for joint and muscle pain.

A blended source mixing Kami-no-yu and Shimo-no-yu in a single tank — a sodium-led bicarbonate hot spring in the classic jūsō-sen (soda-water) style. The water emerges at 43 °C, weakly alkaline (pH 7.8 at the wellhead, 8.0 in the lab), soft on the skin and squarely in Japan's beauty-water family. A generous 64 mg/kg of metasilicic acid adds a thin silica film that leaves skin noticeably smoother afterwards.
