Sodium Sulfate-Bicarbonate-Chloride spring

A hot 85.9 degC sulfate-led spring from a sodium-dominant source, layered with bicarbonate softness and a salty chloride finish. Neutral pH and moderate mineralization (1,350 mg/kg) give it noticeable body without sharpness. Metasilicic acid runs unusually high at 329.7 mg/kg, leaving the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards. At the wellhead the water carries a faintly astringent taste and a slight iron note.

410. Yamanoyu, Kurokawa Onsen ★ Visited for a day trip, located near the main bridge. Usually, day trip access is available from 08:30 to 10:00 and from 13:00 to 21:00, but there can be days off during the week and/or shortened hours (from 16:00). It is part of the Kurokawa tag. For day trips, only the outdoor bath is accessible. The ryokan has its own branded towels. The outdoor bath is made of stone, the water is clear but slightly cloudy. The temperature is 44°C. Through the fence, you can partially see the forest, but overall there is no particular view. Another solid rotenburo in the village. 13.01.2025
