811. Nisshin Kan, Manza Onsen, Gunma (pt.1) ★★ Stayed overnight. For meals, I had the dinner buffet plus additional dishes from the menu through the official website, and breakfast, overall it was fine. In the evening after dinner there was a live performance by a pianist and two vocalists, they sang covers of well-known Japanese and Western songs. There were quite a few guests, but the atmosphere was calm and cozy. The staff included Japanese and foreign employees, and communication and service were comfortable. There is a private bath, I did not use it. For higaeri, the outdoor bath and the main indoor bath are available. With the Manza tegata, ¥500, the regular price is ¥1300. Higaeri is listed from 10:00 to 17:00, last entry at 16:00. About the onsens: 1. Outdoor bath. Located in a separate building. Nice view of the mountains, forest, and snow. 811. Nisshin Kan, Manza Onsen, Gunma (pt.2) ★★ About the onsen: 2. Main indoor bath area. A large wooden room. The air inside is good, a little cool. There is a strong, proper sulfurous onsen smell in the room. On the floor plan, there were also 2 baths on the balcony covered over, but in fact they were not there. The info about the baths on the balcony is also written in the English information leaflet. 2.1. Large bath. The water is cloudy blue, temperature 43. 2.2. Medium bath. The water is cloudy blue, temperature 44. 2.3. Small bath with utaseyu. The water is cloudy blue, temperature 45. 2.4. Small bath with clear water, temperature 34. 3. Bath on the 6th floor, not available for higaeri guests. The water is clear blue, temperature 41.5. The air inside is excellent, but the room is cold. A cool place. Recommended for staying, both for the atmosphere and for the extra bath, and the live performance show program fits the place very well. 15.01.2026 16.01.2026

万座温泉 日進舘 Visited for higaeri on 10.06.2025. Open from 11 to 17, entry until 16, 1000 yen. Two onsens available: indoor Chouju-no-yu and rotenburo Gokuraku-no-yu. The indoor one is inside the hotel. The women's side has four baths. One is 100% source water, not hot (feels like 38°C). Second around 42°C. Third 40-41°C with utaseyu. Fourth around 38°C, clear — not sure it's onsen water. The first and second were the best. There's a window open near the second one, with a very pleasant breeze. The rotenburo is fire. Located separately from the hotel, a couple of minutes toward the local yubatake. Super simple, no shower (but there is a toilet), view of a lunar landscape. Water is just what the doctor ordered. Not hot, not cold. Feels like around 40-41°C.
