A simple thermal spring — gentle in composition and easy on the body. It is mildly alkaline, so the water feels soft on the skin, and with only about 650 mg/kg of dissolved solids it stays light enough for a long, unhurried soak. Behind the plain classification the ion table leans sodium-calcium sulfate, though the concentrations remain modest: the posted analysis records the water as almost colorless and clear, tasteless and odorless.

776. Kinugawa Park Hotels, Kinugawa Onsen, Tochigi ★ A place with an onsen boat, but only in one bath. I visited for a day trip for ¥1100. Day-trip bathing is listed as 12:00~18:00 (Fri-Wed) and 15:00~18:00 (Thu). There is a bath rotation between men and women. During my visit, the onsen boat was in the women’s area, so I couldn’t use it. The bath photos online match the actual place. One set of baths per men/women rotation: 1. Indoor area. It felt stuffy inside. 1.1. Two adjoining rectangular baths. The water was clear, temperature 42.5. 1.2. Large wooden barrel bath. The water was clear, temperature 41.5. 2. Outside, a shallow and small stone bath. The water was clear, with a slight carbonated effect. Temperature 41. At this place, you really need to aim for the timing when the onsen boat is available. 11.01.2026
