Ishige Kai

Senoumi is a seaside ryokan in Inatori Onsen with a bathing hall on the top floor that looks straight out over the Izu coastline. It has both indoor and open-air tubs plus a sauna, and the water is drawn from the ryokan's own spring, running straight through rather than being recirculated. Natural iron and manganese give it a faint brown tint, and it's known locally for warming you right through. A reservable private bath called Futariyu (浮多里湯) has its own small open-air tub with a light scent of hinoki (檜) cypress, and a number of guest rooms have their own private open-air bath facing the sea, filled the same way from the spring. The ryokan takes its name from a shallow reef out at sea, known as good habitat for fish, and the kitchen leans on that with seafood dinners built around kinmedai (金目鯛). The building is tatami throughout, and the bathing hall's view runs from the daytime coastline to sunset over the peninsula and a full sky of stars at night.
