Yugawara Fukiya

Fukiya has seven baths in total: a communal bath for each gender with an attached rock outdoor bath, plus three private outdoor baths (one on the third floor, two on the rooftop), all looking out to the forested hills around Yugawara. The communal baths swap between men and women at midnight, so you get access to four different bathing spaces across a stay. The water is clear and mild, easy on the skin. All three private outdoor baths use cypress tubs, and 18 of the 20 rooms come with their own in-room cypress bath fed directly by onsen water. There is also a private low-temperature ganbanyoku (岩盤浴) sauna room and a rooftop foot bath on the open terrace. Meals are served in-room only.
