About

Yamanokami Onsen Yukaen (山の神温泉 優香苑) has two separate bathhouse wings, each with indoor baths and a large open-air bath beside the Toyosawa River. The water runs as kakenagashi (source-fed, non-recirculated) from five spring sources, silky on the skin and visibly flecked with yuno-hana (湯の花), the mineral sediment that forms when spring water is left to flow freely. A separate day-use facility called Nagomi-no-yu (なごみの湯) sits on the same grounds and includes a sauna; private reserved baths are also available. The buildings were crafted by miya-daiku (宮大工), shrine carpenters, and the latticed coffered ceilings and carved transoms are still a defining part of the atmosphere throughout.
