The bath draws Ikaho Onsen's Sōgōyu — a blend of the resort's wells — as a calcium-sodium sulfate/bicarbonate/chloride water. Sulfate gives the quiet body, with bicarbonate softness and a salty chloride edge layered over it; at roughly 1,180 mg/kg of dissolved solids it is moderately mineralized with noticeable substance. A generous 177 mg/kg of metasilicic acid places it in Japan's beauty-water family — silica of that order leaves the kind of thin film that makes skin feel smoother afterwards. The posting states the water is served undiluted and without recirculation, reheated only when it cools, and sterilized with silver ions and ozone for hygiene.

About

Oyado Tamaki sits close to the stone steps (ishidan, 石段) at the heart of Ikaho, one of the Kanto region's classic hot-spring towns. The inn draws from two separate springs: Kogane-no-yu (黄金の湯, the "golden water") and Shirogane-no-yu (白銀の湯, the "silver water"), each with its own character. Two large public baths, one with a view toward the Tanigawa mountains, both rotate between men and women each day and include open-air sections, sauna, and cold water. For more privacy there are two reservable baths, including an indoor one fed by kakenagashi (free-flowing, non-recirculated) Kogane-no-yu. A number of guest rooms also have their own onsen tubs piped with Shirogane-no-yu.

786. Oyado Tamaki, Ikaho Onsen, Gunma I went for a day visit for ¥1500. The day visit is listed as 11:30~14:30 (except Mon and Fri). The baths alternate between men and women. There is tea in the changing room. There are two entrances, the main one and a back entrance, which the navigation app may also lead you to. The bath photos on the internet match the actual place. 1. Indoor bath with cloudy orange-brown water, temperature 40.5. It was fine to breathe inside. 2. Semi-open-air bath with a fence. The water is clear, temperature 42. 3. Separate outdoor wooden large barrel bath. There is no view, but through the curtain you can see the Ikaho steps. The water is clear, temperature 39. 12.01.2026
