An older hotel with a radon onsen, about 30 minutes to an hour drive north of Osaka. Higaeri from 10:00 to 20:00 for 1000 yen on weekdays and 1100 on weekends, but if you buy a ticket at the neighboring campsite, it's around 800 yen. Indoor bath - 41 degrees (they proudly note the water is undiluted, only heated). Small indoor bath (fits two) "straight from the source, no heating or dilution" - 29 degrees. Rotenburo in stone with a view of the inner garden and the tops of surrounding hills - 41 degrees. Clear water, no particular color or smell. Sitting in the baths feels great, but the indoor area is slightly stuffy. The hotel lobby has lots of interesting decor touches: a retro-style payphone, a stuffed boar named Hanako, an old police Harley for sale, various lacquered wooden figures. There's a rest area with tables and various vending machines. An interesting and pleasant place, worth a stop on the way. 15.02.2026
