About

A ryokan in the Jozankei (定山渓) hot spring area, about an hour south of Sapporo, with its baths housed in a dedicated multi-floor building. Both indoor and outdoor pools use 100% undiluted spring water. The rotenburo has a waterfall and faces the surrounding mountain forest, with the view changing through cherry blossoms, fresh greenery, autumn colors, and snow across the seasons. A steam bath draws vapor directly from the spring source. For overnight guests there is also a quieter underground rotenburo called Yu Meimi (ゆ瞑み), designed for meditative soaking and evoking Jozankei's early bathing history. Private reserved baths (kashikiri, 貸切風呂) on the upper floors are available to both day visitors and overnight guests. Some rooms come with their own in-room onsen bath.
