About

The shared baths face the Agakawa (阿賀川) gorge directly: a panoramic indoor bath takes in the full valley, and separate outdoor baths for men and women sit open to the river sounds and mountain air. One indoor tub is made from ancient hinoki (檜) cypress, timber said to be over 2,000 years old. Private reserved baths are available for couples and families. A number of rooms come with their own open-air hinoki baths running kakenagashi (源泉掛け流し). A sauna is also on-site. The water at Ashinomaki Onsen is mild and said to be gentle on the skin. A buffet restaurant with an Aizu samurai theme opened in 2024.
