415. Nonohana, Kurokawa Onsen ★★ Visited for higaeri. Located at a distance from the center of Kurokawa. Higaeri usually available from 8:30 to 10:00 and from 15:00 to 21:00. Included in the Kurokawa tegata. There's a men/women bath rotation during the day at 15:00, with morning and evening bath sets being fixed rather than alternating. 1. Bath sets available in the morning. 1.1. Indoor bath in the outdoor zone near the exit. Clear water, sparse fine white mineral deposits, very faint proper sulfurous onsen smell. Temperature 42. 1.2. Slightly lower outdoor stone bath. Clear water, very faint proper sulfurous onsen smell. Temperature 43.5. View of trees and the river. 1.3. Separate indoor bath in a separate building before entering the outdoor zone. Water is clear, slightly cloudy, temperature 43. Breathing inside is fine. 2. Bath sets available in the afternoon. 2.1. Upper outdoor stone bath, clear water, bubbling. Temperature 44. 2.2. Lower outdoor stone bath with clear water, temperature 44-45. Small view of the river and forest. Notably, you sit in the bath under a "burned" tree that goes through the roof of the bath, which adds a unique atmosphere. 2.3. Indoor bath, clear water, temperature 42.
