Every room here is a detached cottage (hanare, 離れ) with its own rock-built open-air bath, kept flowing with fresh spring water straight from the source (gensen kakenagashi, 源泉掛け流し). The bath sits right outside your room in a small Japanese garden, so you can soak whenever you like between check-in and check-out, with Mt. Yufu visible over the trees. Rooms only have a shower indoors, so the outdoor bath is where the actual bathing happens. It's a stay-only inn, no meals, so guests use nearby restaurants or order delivery. Each cottage is furnished with antiques the owners pick out themselves, and a newer annex next door adds rooms in a more modern style alongside the older wing. The name, Gorinka (五輪花), comes from the five elements of a Buddhist five-ring stupa (gorinto, 五輪塔): earth, water, fire, wind and sky.
