Two baths (mid-size and small), both usable as a private/exclusive booking per reviewer; another review notes bathing is one party at a time, night and morning only.
Shared bathing area for all genders
Reviews indicate the two baths originate from a men's/women's split and are used by one party at a time, not mixed bathing.
Shower, wash stations, soap and shampoo provided
A shower exists in the inn's own bath, though a reviewer notes low water pressure.
On-site or nearby parking available
Free parking behind the ryokan; another review notes parking spaces are assigned/unmarked and best confirmed with staff.
Maruka Ryokan is a small, old-fashioned inn in Yudanaka Onsen with two indoor baths that guests use one party at a time rather than sharing. The spring water is salty and kept flowing fresh from the source, quite hot at times. Guests can also visit the neighborhood's shared public bath using a key from the front desk. The building has real Showa-era character: solid but worn, with narrow, maze-like corridors, and it's run by a family. It suits travelers who want an old-school inn experience over polish and don't mind some age showing.
