About
Aoba Ryokan (青葉旅館) has been part of Iizaka Onsen in Fukushima for over a century, and the old wooden building still has the feel of a working family inn. There are three baths in total: one outdoor rotenburo (露天風呂) and two indoor rock baths (iwaburo, 岩風呂). The water flows fresh and unrecirculated, kakenagashi (掛け流し). All three baths are available as private kashikiri (貸し切り), so you book a time and soak alone or with your group. Rooms in the special wings have their own in-room hot spring baths. A complimentary cup of sake waits in the outdoor bath changing room. Reservations here are genuinely hard to get.
