Ryokan Hakone Ginyu

All twenty rooms here come with their own open-air onsen bath on a private terrace, and the view shifts by floor between the Hayakawa valley below and the Hakone mountains beyond. The ground-floor Tsuki (月) rooms go a step further with a jetted rock bath tucked among trees for extra privacy. The water is only faintly salty, warms you through, and leaves the skin feeling smooth rather than tight. Beyond the rooms, a communal bathhouse split into two zones, Tsukishiro (月代) and Tsukine (月音), swaps between men and women on a schedule; each side has a rock bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna facing the mountains. A separate spa annex, GinyuSpa, keeps its own source-fed private open-air bath for guests booked in for a treatment, and after hours the whole pavilion can be rented out for a wedding or a proposal. Ginyu leans into a Bali-influenced design, but the corridors are still laid in tatami and guests pad through them in white tabi, an old ryokan habit underneath the resort look.
