熱海353号泉(混源)

Atami Spring No. 353 (Blended)

Operated by · ホテルニューアカオ

Mixed source

Chloride

Atami Spring No. 353 is a blended sodium-calcium chloride source emerging at 55.2 °C as a hot, hypertonic water. With 19.74 g/kg of dissolved solids it sits squarely in the richly mineralized band — body and heat-retention are noticeable, and a faint mineral film tends to linger on the skin afterwards. Weakly alkaline, so the feel on the skin stays soft despite the strong mineralization.

232. Hotel New Akao, Atami (pt.2) 2. Onsen Namine. A fairly average onsen. 2.1. Indoor bath with clear water, temperature 39-40, chlorine smell. Breathing is good. 2.2. Outdoor bath with the same water. 3. Onsen Saikai. 3.1. Indoor bath with clear water, temperature 40. Breathing is fine, but there was very heavy steam on the glass, effectively nullifying the view. 3.2. Outdoor bath with a modest bay view. Photos from the internet match reality. Water is clear, temperature 40. The place isn't without flaws, but it's interesting enough. I didn't have much time there, but everything looked appealing. And you can't argue with the infinity onsen - if they allow higaeri access to it, it's definitely worth a visit, even though there's strong competition from similar baths nearby.

232. Hotel New Akao, Atami (pt.1) A hotel complex with grounds, effectively consisting of two hotels connected by a walkway. Stayed overnight in the Ocean Wing building. Located on an elevated coastal area; as I understand, you can also get here by ropeway (I drove). Higaeri is listed but I didn't verify - from 13:00 to 18:00 for 2500, but I'm not sure which onsens (all of them or only specific ones). I booked a small room, but it had tatami and a window with a bay view. Didn't get meals. There are three onsen sets in different buildings, plus private baths (didn't try those). The hotels themselves have tons of stuff - retro arcades, surfing-themed things, and other entertainment. You can easily spend a good amount of time in the hotel keeping yourself entertained. 1. Infinity onsen Sparium Nishiki. Photos from the internet match reality. About 15 minutes before opening in the early morning, a crowd of people of various genders was already waiting at the entrance. 1.1. The main onsen of the complex - an outdoor infinity onsen with a bay view. The bath area isn't very large. The view is undeniably amazing. Water is clear, temperature around 40. If going in the morning on a sunny day - no joke, you might want sunglasses. 1.2. Indoor bath with clear water, temperature around 40. Breathing is fine, but there was a slight musty pipe smell from the drain. There's a view from the bath, but when I visited, steam on the glass prevented a perfect picture.
