Hama no Yu is a multi-building ryokan in Inatori Onsen on Izu's east coast, and its name (loosely, "the eating inn") points to what it's most known for: elaborate kaiseki dinners served course by course in the room. Two large rooftop baths look straight out over the Pacific and switch between men's and women's use through the day, one of them paired with a cave bath alongside the regular indoor bath and sauna. Most guest rooms have their own onsen-fed open-air bath facing the sea, and guests can also book a private rotenburo, a hot-stone room, or an ocean-view spa by the hour.
