About
Nakao-no-yu is the largest of the 13 sotoyu (外湯, communal village baths) in Nozawa Onsen, housed in a substantial traditional timber bathhouse. Inside are two pools side by side: a hot one and a cooler one, both fed by sulfur spring water flowing fresh without recirculation. The washing area is notably spacious by village-bath standards. Entry is free; a donation box at the entrance accepts voluntary contributions. Bring your own soap and towel.
