Mukaibaru Onsen

Water profile

Mukaibaru Onsen

Spring chemistry and what it does, with the research behind it.

Simple

A gentle simple thermal spring fed from the Beppu municipal hot-spring supply system's Ishigaki line. The source runs very hot — 72 °C at the wellhead and 68.5 °C at the point of use — placing it among Japan's hotter sources, yet the water itself is mild and low-irritant. The posted spring-type indications single out autonomic nervous system instability, insomnia, and depressed mood, presenting this as water documented for settling body and mind. The notice also states that drinking the water requires a health-office permit.
