Senomoto Spring

Simple

A simple thermal spring at Senomoto — neutral in pH and lightly mineralized on paper, but the sensory row of the certificate tells a more textured story: a faintly yellow-brown, clear water carrying a whisper of hydrogen sulfide and a metallic edge on the tongue. The wellhead delivers 41.7 °C at a steady 173 L/min.

413. Senomoto Kogen Hotel, Kurokawa Onsen ★★★ Visited for a day trip. One of the few "concrete" ryokans in Kurokawa, located far from the center of Kurokawa - about one and a half hours on foot or 10-12 minutes by car from the tourist center. The surroundings of the hotel offer pleasant natural views. Day trip access is usually unstable and available in different time slots with possible random closed days: from 8:30 to 10:00 + from 11:30 to 17:00, from 15:00 to 21:00, from 8:30 to 10:00 + from 11:30 to 21:00. There is a private bath for guests. It is included in the Kurokawa tegata (onsen pass). Toreco cards are issued for the onsen, but during my visit they were out of stock and waiting for a new supply. The outdoor remote bath offers an open, wonderful view of the hills and trees. The main bath has four zones for lying down. The water is clear, at about 42°C. There is also a small stone bath with cold water. A separate indoor bath with a high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows. There was water on the glass, so the view was blurred. The water is clear, at about 42°C. It is comfortable to breathe inside. A very cool rotenburo (outdoor hot spring bath). Although it is located far from the main part of the village, it is definitely worth a visit. 15.01.2025
