413. Senomoto Kogen Hotel, Kurokawa Onsen Visited for higaeri. One of the few "concrete" ryokans in Kurokawa, located far from Kurokawa's center — an hour and a half on foot or 10-12 minutes by car from the tourist center. Surrounded by pleasant nature views. Higaeri availability is unstable, with varying time slots and possible random closures: 8:30 to 10:00 + 11:30 to 17:00, 15:00 to 21:00, or 8:30 to 10:00 + 11:30 to 21:00. Private bath available for overnight guests. Included in the Kurokawa tegata. They issue Toreco cards for the onsen, but during my visit they had run out and were waiting for a new shipment. Outdoor remote bath with an open amazing view of hills and trees. Main bath with four lying-down zones. Clear water, temperature 42. There's also a small stone tub with cold water. A separate indoor bath with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. The glass had condensation, so the view was blurry. Clear water, temperature 42. Breathing inside is comfortable. A really great rotenburo. Although it's far from the main part of the village, it's definitely worth a visit.
