About
Aobato no Su (翠鳩の巣) sits in the heart of Tamatsukuri Onsen in Shimane, inside a former ryokan that was converted into a guesthouse and opened in 2017. The indoor baths, one for men and one for women, run on kakenagashi spring water. Tamatsukuri's water has a long reputation for leaving skin unusually smooth, and the house holds certification from the Pure Onsen Association (純温泉協会, Jun Onsen Kyokai). The lobby keeps a relaxed, slightly retro feel, and the guesthouse lends out yukata for wandering the onsen town.
