Onyado Koisumi (おんやど鯉住) sits right on the shore of Lake Suwa, with an indoor bath and an outdoor rotenburo that the owner's grandfather built by hand. The alkaline spring water is gentle and smooth on the skin, kept on the mild side (guests report around 38 to 39 degrees), so it's easy to soak in for a long while. Baths are separated for men and women, and rooms facing the lake have a clear view of the water. It's a small, unpretentious inn: the lobby has a manga corner, and guests can borrow one of the inn's bicycles to ride along the lakeshore.
