43. Hishiya Torazo, Shibu Onsen, Nagano ★★ I stayed here like at a ryokan. The owner is very nice, the building is pleasantly old, and there are various figurines placed around separately. He looked at the matryoshka I gave him for a long time with interest, and said his wife had been in Russia. The food was tasty too. At the ryokan, they give you a key for visiting 9 public onsens in Shibu Onsen. 1. One bath area is indoors with stained glass, and it changes by gender. Inside there are two baths. The water looks cloudy, and I did not especially remember the smell. As for the water temperature, one bath was normal, the other was hot. 2. The outdoor bath is basically private, at the entrance to an empty one, the first visitor marks it with a sign as male, female, or private. In other words, whoever gets there first gets it. The water is cloudy, and the temperature is a little below average. 3. The second bath area also changes by gender.
