Shiibasanso sits along a forest stream at the foot of Mount Shiiba. Two separate bath areas serve guests: Shiiba-no-yu (しいばの湯), a large open-air bath also open to day visitors, faces the river and surrounding woodland; Yama-no-yu (山の湯), for lodging guests only, pairs an indoor bath with a smaller rotenburo set among the trees. Ureshino's spring water is clear and leaves the skin noticeably smooth. Several room types have their own cypress in-room baths fed by the same onsen water. Guests staying at Shiibasanso or at the sister property Taisho-ya (大正屋) can use all four baths across both facilities, with a complimentary shuttle running between them.
