伊香保温泉 (混合泉)

Ikaho Onsen (mixed source)

Mixed source

Sampled at mixing tank
Sulfate
+ Bicarbonate · Chloride

The combined source that feeds the Ikaho Rotemburo public bath — a calcium- and sodium-led sulfate-bicarbonate-chloride water, neutral pH and hypotonic, so the feel on the skin is settled rather than sharp. It pours generously at 43.2 °C and 4627 L/min, served as free-flowing, undiluted source water. Metasilicic acid runs to 181 mg/kg, adding a gently smoothing edge, and a faint brown sediment forms on standing — a small visible tell of the mineral load.

Ikaho rotenburo. 100% kakenagashi. Day-use 450 yen, very iron-rich water, beautiful rotenburo, two baths with warm and hot water. No shower, no shampoo, changing room is outdoors. Everything is very spartan and authentic. Definitely recommended in Ikaho.
