A simple weakly-radioactive spring rising in Arima, carrying enough radon (137 Bq/kg) to fall within the radon-spring tradition. The water is colorless and transparent but develops a yellow-brown sediment if left to stand for a long time. As a cold-mineral source of 22.0 °C, it is reheated for bathing and disinfected with a chlorine-based agent. The posted indications cover neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain and similar chronic complaints.

341. Maple Arima, Arima Onsen Visited as higaeri for 1300 (listed hours 09:00-11:00 and 13:00-21:00). An onsen with Showa vibes and no rotenburo — only clear water. Bath photos from the internet, matches reality. All baths are indoors, breathing is fine. During my visit, a staff member came around collecting water samples from all the baths. 1. Main large bath with clear water and a bubble zone. Temperature around 42. 2. Round bath with jets and clear water. Temperature around 38. 3. Zone with three utaseyu (falling water baths). 4. Shallow walking bath with two zones. 5. Resting zone. Only clear water, the onsen itself is fairly utilitarian. Little reason to go to an onsen like this when visiting Arima.
