417. Miyama Sanso, Kurokawa Onsen Visited for higaeri for 800. Higaeri hours stated as 10:00 to 15:00. Located in the area with thatched-roof cottages, at a distance from Kurokawa's center, next to Yamamizuki. Near the entrance, a tiny snowman greeted me. Although the onsen is marked on the Kurokawa tegata map, it's not actually included in the tegata. However, you can ask them to stamp a "secret" stamp on the back of the tegata for fun (it won't count toward the achievement). When I asked for the water composition sign, they literally handed it to me — a photocopy from a folder, and said I could keep it. Outdoor stone bath with an apocalyptic winter view of bare trees. Clear water, slightly cloudy, with white mineral fragments. Temperature 43. Indoor bath with clear, slightly cloudy water and white mineral fragments. Temperature 42.5. Breathing inside is good. A nice rotenburo on its own, and in combination with Yamamizuki it's an excellent option for a visit.
