益成屋は客室数6室の小さな旅館で、草津温泉の湯畑からすぐの場所にあります。総檜造りの大浴場「弁天の湯」には、白旗源泉の白濁したお湯が源泉かけ流しで注がれています。各客室には専用の貸切風呂が別棟に用意されていて、湯畑から直接引いたお湯を使う浴槽と、草津でも歴史ある白旗源泉を使う浴槽があります。昭和の趣が残る建物で、湯畑のすぐそばという立地も魅力です。

Masunari-ya Ryokan. Probably the first ryokan in Kusatsu that I liked enough to stay again. Rooms are large, very nice-looking, a bit dated, but the ryokan itself isn't new either. Really liked the bath system - besides the main bath, each room (6 total) gets a key to its own kashikiri, with water from two sources: Yubatake and Shirohata (whichever you're lucky to get). Excellent food, very tasty.
