Sulfate

A calcium- and sodium-led sulfate spring, settled and mineral-rich with noticeable body. At pH 8.6 it is alkaline, leaving a slippery, soft feel on the skin that places it in Japan's beauty-water family. It carries 57 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, enough for a thin silica film that smooths the skin. It is served as untreated source flow — no dilution, heating, recirculation, or disinfection.

247. Robatakan, Matsuzaki A simple, small, old ryokan in the countryside. Stayed overnight — without meals it was 7000 yen (but food could be ordered separately). Higaeri listed at 500 (15:00–21:00). Very close by there are several atmospheric temples (especially late at night), a museum with a straw dragon, a convenience store, and a pond with bridges. Walking to restaurants that stay open late (nice for the countryside) takes about 10–20 minutes. They stamp the 60 Onsen of Shizuoka 24/25 booklet. Inside there's a small onsen. Clear water, temperature 43.5. Comfortable to breathe. I originally booked this as just a technical stopover to sleep, since they stamp the rally booklet here, it was conveniently on my route timing-wise, and I needed somewhere to sleep. But considering the surroundings and nearby attractions, I really enjoyed it and recommend the place. Would be interesting to come back to the town and explore it at a more relaxed pace.
