Time Traveler Izu Shuzenji is a self-catering apartment stay rather than a traditional ryokan: five 1LDK units, each with its own kitchen and bathroom, and every bathtub tap runs natural onsen water. There's no communal bath or restaurant on site, guests cook for themselves or eat out locally. Each unit sleeps up to eight, with bunk beds for larger groups, and past guests describe it more like renting a quiet apartment than staying at an inn.
