Ureshi Izumi Kan

This is one of the few ryokan in Ureshino with its own hot-spring source, and the smallest of them: just eight rooms, with separate indoor rock baths for men and women. The source water isn't diluted or recirculated. It's left to cool naturally overnight before it fills the tubs, kept flowing fresh, kakenagashi (かけ流し). The water feels notably smooth and slippery on the skin, in keeping with Ureshino's reputation for water that's kind to skin, and a small amount, about a cup a day, is safe to drink too. Rooms are simply furnished, and several of the four room types have their own indoor onsen bath. Dinner is a seasonal kaiseki course built around Saga ingredients, served in a private dining room.
