About

Pension My Way is a small, eight-room pension in Kusatsu with a single bath each for men and women, filled straight from the town's Bandaiko spring and kept flowing rather than recirculated. The water has a sharp, tingly feel, typical of Kusatsu's springs. In the evening the baths switch to free 40-minute private slots, first-come, first-served, a detail returning guests mention again and again. It's a budget, ski-lodge kind of place near the Kusatsu slopes, happy to host school ski trips and university club retreats, with a dining hall that doubles as a common room and Joshu beef (上州牛) and yamato pork (やまと豚) hot pot on the meal plans.
