Kamei no Yu is a small ryokan in Yudanaka Onsen with just six rooms, reopened under its current name in 2017. The two outdoor baths, a newer hinoki-wood tub and an older stone-lined one, swap between men and women through the day and turn into free private baths for a stretch each evening. The water is a salty, faintly sulfurous spring kept flowing fresh from the source. There's no sauna on site, but guests can use the sauna and historic baths at the affiliated Yorozuya inn nearby, and can also visit the neighborhood's public bathhouses as part of Yudanaka's old bathing circuit.
