Yujuku Kanetaya is a wooden ryokan in Yujuku, a small former post town in Minakami, open since 1868. Its two indoor baths, Kousu-no-yu (弘須の湯) and Monju-no-yu (文殊の湯), draw the sulfate spring water straight from the source: no added water, no heating, no filtering, no recirculating, and it runs kakenagashi around the clock. The water is clear and leaves skin smooth. The two baths swap between men's and women's use every night, so a single overnight stay lets guests try both. Meals are breakfast only; dinner is left to a nearby eatery. It's a quiet, plain sort of inn favored by solo travelers and long-stay bathers rather than anyone after frills, and it keeps a small sitting room, Bokusui-no-ma (牧水の間), where the poet Wakayama Bokusui once stayed during his travels through the Minakami area.
