Otonashi no Mori Ryokufuen is a small riverside ryokan in Ito, set in the Otonashi forest along the Matsukawa river. The outdoor baths are split by gender and carry names tied to local history, Yoritomo-no-yu (頼朝の湯) for men and Yaehime-no-yu (八重姫の湯) for women, both fed by the ryokan's own hot spring and kept flowing fresh rather than recirculated. There's also a private open-air bath right along the river, reservable by phone, plus an indoor bath and a sauna. The inn is plain and old-fashioned rather than polished, the kind of place regulars return to for the quiet forest setting more than for luxury. It also has a free kids' play room, and the official site notes it was once used as a filming location for the TV show Terrace House.
