Village Izukogen

The rotenburo here is kakenagashi, fed straight from the hotel's own spring (Tsushima No. 40, 対馬40号), with a view over the Izukogen hills and the Sagami Sea; cherry blossoms hang over it in spring, fishing boats light up the water on summer nights, and there is a morning bath looking toward Oshima at sunrise. Next to it is a compact sauna with a cold plunge, and an indoor bath (heated and recirculated) with big windows for an unhurried soak on a rainy day. The water itself is a mild alkaline spring, used without dilution, and gentle on the skin even after a long soak. The hotel started out as a resort condominium; the renovated rooms are kitchen suites rather than standard hotel rooms. Beyond the bath, named Izumi Tenku no Yu (泉天空の湯), there is an indoor pool, table tennis, billiards, and a karaoke room. Bathing is separated by gender, though parents may bring a child of six or under into the opposite side.
