782. Moriaki Ryokan, Ikaho Onsen, Gunma (pt.1) ★ Stayed overnight. There is a bath rotation between men and women. There are many staff at the hotel, and most of them are Japanese. I ordered the double meal plan (kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast). It was served in a separate room. The food was pleasant in terms of taste, but there were some issues with the service. Kaiseki was served in a shared tatami hall with many people at small tables, and there were lots of children running around. Through the wall, I could hear that there was at least one more hall where people were hanging out very noisily and actively. A staff member accidentally spilled cold water from the pot used for boiling onto the floor next to one of the empty neighboring tables, wiped the tatami, but a little water remained on the second table and that was ignored. About the onsen: 1. First set of baths in the men/women rotation. 1.1. Outdoor bath. No view. The water was cloudy orange-brown. Temperature 37. 1.2. Indoor bath with cloudy orange-brown water. 782. Moriaki Ryokan, Ikaho Onsen, Gunma (pt.2) ★ About the onsen: 2. The second set of baths, switched between men and women. 2.1. Outdoor bath. No view. The water was cloudy orange-brown. Temperature was 40.5. 2.2. Indoor bath with cloudy orange-brown water. Temperature was 42. Breathing inside was fine. 3. Large indoor bath, no gender rotation. It turned out to be a very atmospheric bath during the visit. Because of the large amount of dense steam, the color tones, and the architecture, it created a kind of special, mystical effect. The water was cloudy orange-brown. Temperature was 41.5. Breathing inside was fine. There were some issues with dinner service. The baths were pleasant, especially the large atmospheric indoor bath.
