782. Moriaki Ryokan, Ikaho Onsen, Gunma (pt.1) ★ Stayed one night. The baths are switched between men and women. There are many staff at the hotel, and most of them are Japanese. I took the double meal plan, dinner kaiseki and breakfast buffet. The meals were served in a separate room, and the food tasted pleasant, but there were some issues with the service. The kaiseki was served in a shared tatami hall with many people seated at small tables, and there were lots of children running around. Through the wall, I could hear that there was at least one more hall where people were having a very noisy and lively time. A staff member accidentally spilled cold water from the pot used for boiling onto the floor beside one of the empty neighboring tables, wiped the tatami, but a little water remained on the second table and that was ignored. About the onsen: 1. First set of baths, switched between men and women. 1.1. Outdoor bath. No view. The water is cloudy orange-brown. Temperature 37. 1.2. Indoor bath with cloudy orange-brown water. 782. Moriaki Ryokan, Ikaho Onsen, Gunma (pt.2) ★ About the onsen: 2. The second set of baths, with gender alternation. 2.1. Outdoor bath. No view. The water is cloudy orange-brown. Temperature is 40.5. 2.2. Indoor bath with cloudy orange-brown water. Temperature is 42. Breathing inside is normal. 3. Large indoor bath without gender alternation. It turned out to be a very cool, atmospheric bath during the visit. Because of the large amount of dense steam, the color palette, and the architecture, it created a kind of special, mystical effect. The water is cloudy orange-brown. Temperature is 41.5. Breathing inside is normal. There were some issues with the dinner service. The baths were pleasant, especially the large atmospheric indoor bath. Overall, it is decent, worth keeping in mind. 11.01.2026 12.01.2026
