Sogoyu is a blended supply — the posting names it a mixed spring drawing on more than one source — and it reads as a calcium-sodium sulfate water with bicarbonate and chloride layered behind it. Neutral and hypotonic, it has quiet body from the sulfate, a softness from the bicarbonate and a faint salty edge from the chloride. The water is colorless and clear apart from a few brown flecks of suspended mineral, a trace of its small iron content. At 181 mg/kg, metasilicic acid is generous enough to place it in Japan's beauty-water family, leaving the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel smoother afterwards.
