782. Moriaki Ryokan, Ikaho Onsen, Gunma (pt.1) ★ Stayed one night. The baths are switched between men and women. There are many staff at the hotel, and most of them are Japanese. I took the double meal plan, dinner kaiseki and breakfast buffet. The meals were served in a separate room, and the food tasted pleasant, but there were some issues with the service. The kaiseki was served in a shared tatami hall with many people seated at small tables, and there were lots of children running around. Through the wall, I could hear that there was at least one more hall where people were having a very noisy and lively time. A staff member accidentally spilled cold water from the pot used for boiling onto the floor beside one of the empty neighboring tables, wiped the tatami, but a little water remained on the second table and that was ignored. About the onsen: 1. First set of baths, switched between men and women. 1.1. Outdoor bath. No view. The water is cloudy orange-brown. Temperature 37. 1.2. Indoor bath with cloudy orange-brown water.
