About

TAOYA Gero is a large hot-spring hotel run by the Ooedo Onsen group, a short drive from Gero's main onsen street rather than within walking distance of it. Bathing is split between two halls, Soun-no-yu (層雲の湯) and Shinso-no-yu (深層の湯), each with an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna with a cold bath alongside it, with mountain views from the tubs. The spring water comes from the hotel's own source, a simple-type onsen water that's warmed and recirculated rather than flowing straight through. Some room plans include a private open-air bath in the room itself. Stays are run all-inclusive, with meals and drinks bundled into the room rate, so it suits guests who'd rather settle into the hotel than wander the streets below.
