Ito Ryokuyu is a small annex of the Ito Kowakien resort, just seven rooms, each with its own garden rotenburo fed straight from the property's own hot spring, so you can soak on your own schedule, day or night. The water is soft and gentle on the skin, and the inn keeps a rare drinking-spring station where you can sip the same water you bathe in. The main building also has a shared bath, indoor and outdoor, with a hot pool and a lukewarm one, and it swaps between men's and women's sides after midnight. Rooms take their names from islands of the Izu archipelago and keep a quiet, old-fashioned feel, yukata and geta included, with views onto the garden and, at night, the sky.
