The defining feature here is the agate. The hotel's own name translates roughly as 'agate-bath inn', and the baths in both bathhouse wings are lined with three-color agate (menou, 瑪瑙) stone. There are two main bath areas, Shinwa-no-yu (神話の湯) and Megami-no-yu (女神の湯), each with an indoor bath and an open-air bath; the two swap between men and women morning and evening, so guests get to try both. Water comes from the hotel's own spring. Private reserved baths (kashikiri) are available for lodging guests, and some top-floor rooms have their own in-room rotenburo.
