Hakone Suimeisou is two minutes on foot from Hakone-Yumoto Station, right on the Hayakawa river, and every guest room looks out over the water. Bathing runs across five baths: a large open-air bath used by women during the day and men at night, looking onto a temple forest by daylight and open to the sky after dark; two small private open-air baths you can book by the hour; and two indoor baths that swap between men and women through the day. The spring water itself is clear, with no color, taste, or scent. Only the rooms built with their own open-air bath have a genuine onsen tub in the room. The plain Japanese-style rooms use a regular heated bath instead. A separate annex next door, POSADA, offers simple room-only stays for solo travelers, who can still use the main building's baths and lobby.
